Mindfulness Everyday
I took the 8 Week MBSR course and I can’t even begin to describe how it has helped me. I had been dealing with general anxiety and stress for many years and this course taught me different coping strategies and ways in which I can ground myself and relax. I now practice mindfulness regularly and I have this course to thank for it.
Amrita Kaur
CEO
Painted Cakes
I took the 8 Week MBSR course to understand how meditation can help support individuals with chronic pain and every day stressors. After taking this course, I can confidently say that this course helps to change the relationship that one has with pain, and make it more manageable. I thoroughly enjoyed the course, and am now looking at next steps on how to become a trained facilitator myself so that I can help support the patients that I work with at my clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions about Silent Meditation Retreats

How many people will be on the retreat?

Our retreats cater to a small group, typically 8 - 20 of people, selected carefully to make sure that the day retreat is suited for them at this time. You will have time to interact personally and socialize.

What actually happens at a retreat?

Mindfulness retreats are meant to be a combination of didactic and experiential immersions, with an emphasis on the experiential. The time we spend together is highly interactive. You will often be doing things in pairs or small groups, guided by a structure provided by our facilitators. It might be talking and sharing experiences, or engaging in a guided meditation. All participation is voluntary and the space created is one of non-judgment.

What is included in the cost of a day retreat?

Our all inclusive retreat price includes:
1. Guided meditations
2. Lunch & Tea
3. Take Home Meditation Workbook

What if I have never meditated before?

If you’ve never meditated before, don’t worry! Our retreat is designed with beginners in mind. We’ll guide you step by step through the basics, so you don’t need any prior experience. You’ll learn simple meditation techniques that anyone can practice, regardless of background or skill level. Plus, we’ll offer plenty of support and encouragement throughout the retreat, ensuring you feel comfortable and confident as you explore this new practice. Meditation is about being present, and there's no "wrong" way to do it—just come with an open mind and a willingness to learn!

What should I bring to a day-long meditation retreat?

For a day-long meditation retreat, we recommend bringing the following:

1. Comfortable clothing – Dress in loose, comfortable clothes that allow you to sit and move freely for extended periods.
2. A cushion or mat (optional) – While we’ll provide seating options, if you prefer to meditate on your own cushion or mat, feel free to bring it for extra comfort.
3. Water bottle – Stay hydrated throughout the day. Please bring your own water bottle to refill.
4. Notebook and pen – If you’d like to jot down reflections, insights, or questions during the retreat, a notebook and pen can be helpful.
5. A sense of openness – The most important thing to bring is an open mind and a willingness to explore the practice of meditation. Leave behind any expectations and allow yourself to fully experience the retreat.

We’ll provide the rest—guided sessions, peaceful space, lunch and a welcoming atmosphere for you to relax and connect with your practice.

What is a silent retreat?

Can you read during a silent retreat?
