About the Program

Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy(MBCT) is an 8-week, evidence-based, experiential program that combines ideas of cognitive therapy and mindfulness practices to cultivate present moment, non-judgmental awareness. This program is endorsed in the CANMAT Guidelines (2016) for the treatment of depression.
Duration
MBCT is typically an 8-week program, with weekly sessions lasting 2.5 hours.
Retreat
Often, the program includes a day-long silent retreat (4 hours), where participants engage in intensive mindfulness practices.
Instructor
MBCT is led by a registered health professional (Registered Psychotherapist, Psychologist, Registered social worker etc.) who guides the practices and discussions.
